National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Message

Posted on September 29, 2023

September 29, 2023 – Akwesasne, ON

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30th, is a day to acknowledge the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities and to recognize the ongoing journey towards reconciliation. To mark this important occasion, FNEAA invites you to reflect on the shared commitment to reconciliation through two special video presentations:

1. Orange Shirt Day Video

2. September 25th Town Hall: “Respectful Relations and Reconciliation”

Filmed on September 25th, 2023. Teresa Edwards, CEO of the Legacy of Hope Foundation, and Simon Brascoupé, Senior VP of Education and Services at FNEAA, speak at the University of Ottawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, on respectful relations and reconciliation.

These videos provide valuable insights and perspectives on the path to reconciliation, featuring discussions and stories that shed light on the challenges and opportunities Indigenous communities and Canadians face.

FNEAA also invites you to revisit one of the past Gathering Circle events, where Teresa Edwards delved into the profound work of the Legacy of Hope Foundation. Discover the impact and importance of this organization in preserving the legacies of Indigenous Peoples.
