Dans cet extrait du cercle de discussion des gardiens du savoir, Sykes Powderface discute du retour de la langue et de la culture dans la salle de classe. Il parle des luttes pour introduire les enseignements traditionnels dans les syst\u00e8mes d\u2019apprentissage coloniaux. Dans la vid\u00e9o, il discute de l\u2019importance d\u2019\u00e9couter et d\u2019apprendre des autres tout au long de sa vie et de sa carri\u00e8re. Il fait \u00e9galement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la \u00ab D\u00e9claration des Premi\u00e8res Nations \u00bb, sign\u00e9e par les chefs \u00e0 travers le Canada en 1981. Les mots de cette d\u00e9claration peuvent aider les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et les \u00e9coles des Premi\u00e8res Nations aujourd\u2019hui en apprenant aux jeunes \u00e0 savoir qui ils sont et \u00e0 quel point ils peuvent \u00eatre forts.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Sykes Powderface est originaire de la nation Stoney Nakoda de Morley, en Alberta. Il a fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 un pensionnat \u00e0 Morley et a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 au Mount Royal College. Il a fait des recherches et \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les droits issus de trait\u00e9s autochtones pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es. Son exp\u00e9rience de travail comprend des t\u00e2ches administratives \u00e0 divers titres avec la Nation Stoney Nakoda, les gouvernements f\u00e9d\u00e9ral et provincial. Il a maintenant ses propres services de consultation en trait\u00e9s et en Constitution canadienne, en enseignements culturels traditionnels et en analyse de politiques. Son travail continue de faire conna\u00eetre qui sont les peuples autochtones aux peuples non autochtones.<\/p>\n<p>Le cercle de discussion \u00ab Lieu de rassemblement \u00bb des gardiens du savoir de l\u2019Association des administrateurs de l\u2019\u00e9ducation des Premi\u00e8res Nations a eu lieu le 10 mars 2021 sur Zoom. Les gardiens du savoir ont parl\u00e9 du pouvoir de la culture, des r\u00e9cits et de l\u2019\u00e9ducation ax\u00e9e sur la terre.
